We believe our customers deserve the best possible experience--and that means having cast iron cookware with a smooth cooking surface that is well seasoned ready for any task. That’s why we’re proud to offer our 'For Life' Seasoning Maintenance Program.
'For Life' is our promise to help maintain the smoothness and seasoning of your Fredericksburg Cast Iron. We will clean, ensure the smoothness of you cooking surface, and add a seasoning layer. The 'For Life' Seasoning Maintenance Program is Free of charge (all you pay is the shipping cost).
While we perform the necessary cleaning and seasoning maintenance, our aim is not to return your cast iron to its brand new appearance. That’s because your Fredericksburg Cast Iron is more than a tool. When you first open the box, it’s a blank slate. Every meal cooked and sign of wear tells a story of its use--stories carried with your cast iron cookware when you pass it on to the next generation.
We service your cast iron to make it as easy to use and dependable as ever, all while preserving its unique character. When you send your Fredericksburg Cast Iron cookware back to us, it will be under the expert care or our cast iron seasoning team. We will lovingly clean and season your cast iron cookware, taking it through out specialized seasoning maintenance process.
Here’s how it works…
1. Start on the 'For Life' Seasoning Maintenance Program Page
In the "Shop" tab on our website find the 'For Life' Seasoning Maintenance Program in the Ironware section.
2. Select Your Cast Iron Cookware
On the 'For Life' checkout page, select your Fredericksburg Cast Iron cookware from the dropdown menu that you will be sending us.
3. Checkout
Complete the free online checkout process. All that you pay for is a flat rate $24 shipping charge that pays for getting your cookware to us and back to you.
Address supplied at checkout is where your cast iron cookware will be returned.
Once checkout is completed and your order has been submit via our website our team will email you a USPS shipping label to be used to send you previously identified Fredericksburg Cast Iron piece to us.
4. Package and Ship
Package your cast iron cookware as securely as possible and affix the USPS shipping label to the package. Drop the package off at the Post Office and the rest is up to us.
That’s it! Within 5 business days, we’ll service your cast iron cookware, cover return and ship it back to you in brand new packaging.

What’s the cost?
The 'For Life' Seasoning Maintenance Program is free for all Fredericksburg Cast Iron cookware. You only pay a flat rate shipping cost that covers sending us your cast iron and for us to send it back to you. We cover the cost of all cleaning and seasoning maintenance.
Can I send my Fredericksburg Cast Iron cookware in more than once?
Yes, you can utilized the 'For Life' program as many times as you'd like for your Fredericksburg Cast Iron cookware.
What will you do to my cast iron?
In addition to seasoning your cast iron, we will thoroughly clean it — removing all carbon buildup to ensure a smooth cooking surface. While this offering is not a full restoration the cleaning and seasoning maintenance will make your cast iron pop.
Why are you doing this?
We stand behind the quality of our cast iron, and we stand behind our cast iron owners. We want all our cast iron cookware, both new and old, to be in the best condition possible for preparing a meal for friends and family.
How should I ship it?
Ship your cast iron using the USPS shipping label we provide.
How should I package my cast iron cookware for shipment?
Package your cast iron piece as securely as possible. If you have your original packaging that works great otherwise use the thickest box you can find, pack it with newspaper, wrap a pool noodle around it. The better your cast iron is packed the safer it will be in transit.
Do I need proof of purchase?
No. Whether you originally purchased your cast iron from Fredericksburg Cast Iron, received it as a gift, or bought it from one of our retail partners… if it’s a piece of Fredericksburg Cast Iron, it’s eligible for the 'For Life' program.
How long does it take?
After we receive your cast iron, give us 5 business days (that’s right… days, not weeks) to service your cast iron.
How do you ensure I’ll get my cast iron piece back?
Once received all 'For Life' items will be tagged identifying the order number to ensure you receive your cast iron piece back.
How will my cast iron be returned?
We will package your cast iron item in new packaging and return it to the address provided at checkout.
Do I still have to maintain my own cast iron?
We believe every Fredericksburg Cast Iron Co. owner should have a foundational understanding of how to maintain and season their own cast iron. These basic skills are necessary for anyone spending significant time cooking. While we’re happy to service your Fredericksburg Cast Iron cookware, it’s not a substitute for regular, basic maintenance.
